SJSP: The Practice

At SJSP, we firmly believe that acknowledging the existence of racism and its detrimental effects on communities is crucial in creating a space for social justice within a spiritual context. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who share our belief that finding true connection can be achieved through mindful engagement in social justice. Our mission is to work towards freedom from oppression for all, and we are confident in our ability to achieve this goal.

Resources

The Black Bill of Rights/ACLU toolkit is a powerful resource for community leaders to advocate for change and fight for black liberation. It offers valuable insights on how to build collective power and knowledge to overcome disparities that affect the daily lives of black people. By identifying policy and legislative choices made as a result of racism, users can launch a successful community campaign to drive change and address systemic oppression. It's time to challenge the normalization and legitimization of white supremacy in the United States and work towards a more just and equitable society.

SJSP Community Rapid Response

When an injustice compels you to take to the streets, the intention to peacefully protest can often be eclipsed by what many call "riotous behavior." But the term riot is often extremely loaded and used in a way that's intended to be dismissive of protests and portray protesters as lawless and destructive.
